Threshold vs. White Glove Delivery: Exploring SunBelt’s Final Mile Delivery Options

At SunBelt Xpress, we know that premium furniture deserves premium delivery. That’s why we offer two tailored solutions designed to meet the expectations of discerning customers: Threshold Delivery and White Glove Delivery. From pickup to final placement, SunBelt Xpress remains your trusted partner, ensuring a seamless and professional experience every step of the way.
Understanding the difference between these services ensures that the furniture buyer receives the level of care and attention they expect. Let’s explore which option best enhances their experience.
White Glove Delivery
For customers who expect a flawless, hands-off delivery experience, White Glove Delivery provides the highest level of service. Our professional two-person delivery team ensures that each piece is handled with care and placed exactly where it belongs. Here’s what White Glove Delivery includes:
- Room-of-choice placement – Furniture is carefully delivered and positioned in the buyer’s preferred location.
- One flight of stairs – Need to go upstairs? No problem. Our team will carry the furniture up or down one flight.
- Light assembly – If minor assembly is required, we handle it.
- Debris removal – We remove all packaging materials, leaving the space clean and ready for use.
White Glove Delivery is ideal for high-end furniture pieces, larger shipments, and buyers who value a seamless, luxury experience.
Threshold Delivery
For buyers who prefer a more streamlined approach, Threshold Delivery offers a reliable and cost-effective alternative. This option ensures safe and efficient delivery while keeping costs lower. Here’s what it includes:
- First Dry Location Delivery – The shipment is delivered in its original packaging to the first dry, secure location. This could be a garage, covered porch, or inside the first door of the home or business.
- No Unpacking or Assembly – The customer is responsible for unpacking and assembling the furniture.
- Efficient and Secure – This service ensures that the item is protected from weather and theft, without the added cost of in-home placement.
Threshold delivery is perfect for customers who are comfortable setting up their furniture or those who prefer to receive their shipment quickly and efficiently without extra handling.
SunBelt’s Shipment and Delivery Process
Once SunBelt has picked up the shipment from the manufacturer, your SunBelt Direct representative will process the shipment and reach out to the party responsible for billing to verify shipment details and collect payment. After payment has been received, the order will be released to ship.
SunBelt Direct uses trusted final mile delivery partners for our residential deliveries. Your shipment will be transported via SunBelt Xpress to our final mile partner who is closest to where the residential delivery will occur. Once our final mile partner has received the shipment, they will inspect each piece and then contact the end customer within 48 hours to begin the delivery process.
Our partners will do their very best to facilitate any special requests for specific dates or times, but delivery is dependent on distance from the terminal, existing routes, etc. While they work hard to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee special requests or preferred delivery dates and times.
On the day of delivery, our partner will call or text with a reminder.
- For Threshold Deliveries: : The partner will deliver the items to the first dry location. Your customer should inspect all packages and note any concerns or issues when signing for the shipment.
- For White Glove Deliveries: The partner will deliver the items to the customer’s room of choice and place them as directed. After placement, any packaging or dunnage will be removed. It is very important that your customer inspects all items at the time of delivery and notes any concerns to the delivery team. This includes damage to the furniture being delivered, missing pieces, damage to the home, etc.
Choosing the Right Delivery Service
When deciding between Threshold and White Glove Delivery, consider the following:
- Does your customer need assistance with placement, assembly, or packaging removal? If yes, White Glove is the best option.
- Is the shipment large, heavy, or difficult to move? White Glove ensures it gets where it needs to go with ease.
- Is your customer comfortable handling setup on their own? If so, Threshold Delivery is a convenient and cost-effective choice.
- Is speed or budget a priority? Threshold delivery may be the more economical solution.
- Will someone be available at the home or business to receive the delivery? Both Threshold and White Glove require the recipient to be present.
Seamless Order Processing
To ensure a smooth delivery experience, please provide the following details on each order to your vendor or manufacturer:
- Customer Name
- Delivery Address
- Phone Number
- Quote Number
Additionally, request that vendors include this same information on the bill of lading at the time of shipping. This helps prevent delays and ensures a seamless delivery process for both you and your customers. Please also ensure that the recipient is aware that they must be home at the time of delivery for both Threshold and White Glove services.
